This was our first batch of Mead that we started 9 months ago. We bottled the Mead about 5 months ago and have enjoyed several bottles with friends. We have stored the bottles in the basement.

Yesterday we went to get a bottle and noticed what appeared to be white ribbons floating in the Mead. I think I attached a photo of what it looks like. Eventually the 'white ribbons' settle to the bottom inch or so of the bottle. All of the bottle we have, 6 or so, are like this.

Does anyone have an idea what this is?

Could be wisps of sediment. Do these disperse if you shake (even slightly) the bottle?
