I'm hesitant to start a new topic just for this, but...
I start my first batch! Woohoo! ;D
In about two months time, I should have about a gallon of Joe's Ancient Orange available. The brew is a-bubblin'.
I do wish I had bought a hygrometer at the SLHBS (semi-local home brew store), so I could keep better track of the progress of the batch. And I call myself an engineering student. *sigh*
Anyway, thank you all for your help, and to Joe for posting such a good, simple recipe for us newbees to try.
I wonder how long it'll be before I have eight or nine five-gallon carboys going...
