Just ran across this site... for those of you shipping to friends, family and Competitions... you might want to check them out. Much cheaper than the Styrofoam wine shippers I'm using now.

I really like the 6 and 12 packs with a styrofoam insert. You get nice insulation, the mead bottles are held in place and it's nicely reusable when you need it again. I get mine at the local wine shop I frequent and they're very affordable.

Cheers,

Oskaar

Wrath, I've used those cardboard ones you showed, and they're good about 80% of the time. I've had at least one that arrived in pieces, soaked in mead from busted bottles because the shipping dudes played hockey with it or something.

On the other hand, they're a bit more expensive, but the styrofoam boxes haven't failed me yet. The drop-kick specialists at OOPs and FedWrecks don't seem to break them as often....

True, as long as you buy in quantity. I actually checked U-Line first, but I didn't need 4-6 of the things, just one. So, I paid U-Haul a bit more, but I don't have a pile of wine shippers all over the house....LOL

But Vicki... I am sure you have 4 to 6 friends, like me, that are out here waiting for you to ship us samples of your mead!! ::) ::) ::)

And if you only have 3 friends, including me, I'll take the other 3 friends worth just so you will feel loved... aren't I wonderful? ;D ;D ;D

With a Wednesday morning hug,

I got 5 of the single bottle shippers from uline. So far I've sent 1 and it arrived without a problem. It'll also be used to send me something back. :)

I also had previously sent 3 bottles out reusing a box from DaVinci Gourmet. They have flavored syrups that I use for various things. The box that they use is perfect for shipping 3 meads.

Yeah, I was thinking I'd get some of the 1 and 3 box shippers from Uline. It would be great for shipping competition entries or mead to friends. The 12-bottle box I got from U-Haul is going out to Montana loaded with Merlots, and will be coming back filled with mead and Montana wines.
