Ok so I think I messed up on my calculation of how much honey I needed. I made a 3 gallon batch of JAOM and used 7 24oz jars of honey. So I figured 168 nt weight oz = 10.5 lbs honey. But I read 1 gallon of honey = 12 lbs. If so I am way over the amount of honey needed. Can someone please advise?

Thanks!

Hum? I'm not sure what you're getting at here.

a 1 gallon batch uses 3.5lb of honey, exactly as per the recipe.

24oz is, according to my reckoning, 1lb 8oz, so for 3 gallons, 7 jars of that size would be correct.

Also I understand that 1 US gallon of honey is about 12 lb in weight, so what is the problem ? have you used a gallon of honey for a 3 gallon batch or what ?

Yeah they are listed as net wt. So I guess im good. I think I was confusing liquid oz with net wt oz.
