Default D.n.a. 2012

D.N.A. 2012 stands for Delaware Native Ale 2012 - it's a DFH brew made with all Delaware native ingredients. Our own Mr. BrimmingHorn was asked to create a braggot recipe for this years DNA brew utilizing local blueberries, wildflower honey, malted barley, and our own DNA yeast cultured from peach orchards.

Here's the Description

and he's the one actually making the braggot in this video not doing the talking

So proud of him!

It's only at the DFH Pub here in Delaware. I don't think there are plans to make big batches of it. They are distilling some of it too. I had some of the distilled spirits last night before they put it on the market and the blueberries and honey are SOOO predominant! Alison is AWESOME at what she does.

...y'know, I would totally be willing to trade some 'marinade' if there was something in Missouri you wanted...just saying...

Hmm, time to plan a trip to Rehoboth. We did have a blast last time through. How long do I have before it's all gone?

It's a 6-7 barrel batch, but quite a bit got distilled. J's last braggot at the pub (Beewolf) lasted about 10 days.

Soyala - If I can get a few bottles I'll send you a pm!

You rock hard core but don't promise too much or the whole board will be after you! Especially if it goes out the door that fast, wow! Maybe a hint a recipe for us homebrewers who have been considering a braggot and think a blueberry one sounds om nom nommy...if it's not Copyright ed or anything. (Obviously we can't get their special yeast, but it's worth a shot! I could just SMELL that brew through my screen!)

Congratulations to the happy brewparents. It sounds like a braggot to brag about. And the spirits! My NOSE is covetous.

We went and tried it today. It has a light honey sweetness, tasted very like a red wine with a lot of blueberry aroma and flavor. Lightly carbonated. Very much more like a lightly carbonated blueberry mead then a braggot. Refreshing and delicious and I wanted to keep drinking them but it clocked in at 10%!
