...actually I do have three batches that smell like diesel... but none of them had anything to do with car parts... just some odd fusel formation.

so buy a new d20 and sanitize the heck out of it...

Hmm... I could throw a RAM module into the must...

But I do have a set of stone 6-sided dice. Thank you SO much for the latest addition to my to-brew list...

And it's two of my weirdomels which have had a car part
Hehehe, "Gamer's Grog" - The new Wierdomel... Let me know when you go to brew it. I'll put a brew together next week or the following (I got to rack a whole bunch of my current stuff sitting in secondary - time to get them off the spices and lees.)

Yeah, I think I'm going to do just that and post some pics of it for everyone's entertainment. LOL As for a RAM module, the only thing I would be worried about is something leaching out of the substrate. Don't they use cyanide to etch those boards? Maybe that's old tech. Anyway, that's my main fear of using polymer dice is that some wierd chemical might leech out of the plastic when soaked in alcohol for any real length of time.

Well, there aren't many components on a PC that are plastic (or at least, safe to ferment)...

Can't you just put your new die into a bag and toss the bag into another airtight container?

I've got a couple of gemstone dice, those would work. A rose quartz and a snowflake obsidian set...my dice are pretty! (I like having specialty dice for my gaming and have spent way too much on them)

With the amount of crap we're exposed to just living, I'm not terribly worried about chucking even a plastic d20 into my must, I'd just run it though the dishwasher first to get rid of anything that's easily removed.

And how about your control, alt and delete keys from a dead keyboard? (run through the dishwasher first, of course)? Call it ctrl-alt-smite mead or something...

LOL, ok, ok... I'm gonna brew up a batch of Gamer's Grog Wierdomel next batch. Gotta go find a special set of dice for the purpose. Will post pics when I get it going. Could be a little more than a month before I can get around to it though. I've got a bunch of leatherwork to do before DragonCon. Made the art show this year (first time applying too and I hear the competition was pretty strong this year!) Anyway, lots to do so bogged in that right now, but will get on it very next brew cycle. And as for the Ctr+Alt+Smite mead, that sounds like a fun one too.
