Hey all,

I own Bee Thinking, a beekeeping supplier based out of Portland, Oregon. We're in the process of adding mead to our store, and so far Portlanders are very excited!

This week we started receiving shipments and by the end of the week we should have the following meads:

I'm looking for suggestions on other great meads you think we should offer. At first we'll only sell out of our retail store in Portland, but depending on demand we may go through the process of getting direct ship licenses for the 14 participating states.

If you are part of a meadery not yet distributed in Oregon, do know that Oregon allows direct shipping by meaderies to retail establishments after they acquire a $50 direct ship permit.

I got to meet them awhile back in San Diego; awesome people with some awesome meads. Keep us posted on what you end up bringing in! Inquiring minds need to know... ;)

We also have a hands-on mead making class being held on Tuesday, July 23rd from 6-9PM. All materials provided -- leave the class with a 1-gallon carboy fermenting, and rack it at home! The class will be taught by Reggie Mace of Mace Mead Works

Hidden legend meadery

I went to this one because I wasn't aware of a meadery in Montana. I see they have free shipping on meads if you order three bottles and the price is not outrageous--if it is good mead. All the mead in shops locally is just honey tainted reisling with some fruit juice added. Montana must restrict the ABV because all of their product is 12.5 ABV. I know this would make it quicker to mature I guess. Thanks for the listing of meadery's

They likely don't have a hard cap on 12.5%; however the tax rate per bottle would be much increased. I think the NH soft cap tax is 13.9%, so it varies form state to state. (I think)

Another Meadery that is fairly close to you is Mason Manor in Surrey BC. I found their traditional in the Liquor store and I liked it although it was the first professionally made mead I have ever had. They have several other selections but I haven't had the opportunity to try it yet.
