Default Chiller for whatever

getting bored this weekend so my son and i made this wort/must chiller. we got branched out on making beer also so we could drink something while our mead ages.

we already know this is the best mead forum going so where do we read about beer adventures?

Great looking piece of hardware Idaho. How did it work? Any field results for us?

Nice job Idaho. It looks like it should chill pretty efficiently!

Idaho,

I noticed there is a cross over tee between the inlet and outlet just below the plastic tubing connection on your chiller. It there a specific reason for this?

Nice job on construction!

well i tested it last night and it brought 5 gals down from a boil to 80 degrees in about 6 minutes.
the crossover tee was added to support the tube coming up from the bottom. it has a solid peice of copper inside so the fluid can't cross through it.
so now i drink home made beer while i wait for my mead to become drinkable (if it ever does)
