What:
The International Mead Festival (an event through the International Mead Association) is the worlds' largest and most prestigious mead competition and festival. This event hosts both a public tasting of commercial meads and a private judging of commercial and now home made mead entries. If you miss this, you'll miss the biggest even in the mead world!

1st Round Judging - Jan, 2006 (All entries due by December 15, 2005)

Note: Second round judging and medal announcements will occur on site at the February, 2006 festival. Therefore, entries only need to be shipped 1 time! They will pull the top three winners from each category to be judged in second round judging. Winners will NOT be announced until Saturday, February 11.

Any idea when the 1st round is taking place? the site says Jan 2005 (I'm sure they meant 2006)... any Idea when it actually happens?

First round is today January 21, 2006, there will several flights, and it may run a couple of days. We have about 210 entries.
