This beer is called XX.
See the thread on "X: Easy extract beer recipe". The technique is identical. Obviously, from the eXtra X, this is a stronger beer.

To do this one, make the following changes:

- Instead of 1 lb of honey, use 4 lbs.
- Instead of 1 lb of crushed Carapils, use 1 lb of crushed 120L crystal malt and 1 lb of crystal rye.
- For the final hop addition, instead of Liberty, use Citra at 14%AA.
- Optional, but recommended: instead of dry yeast, use Kölsch yeast from with White Labs or Wyeast. Make a 2 quart starter.

The result should be a light-bodied, strong dark beer, 1.072, 38 IBU, with 7.7%abv. Serious beer. Suitable for contemplating serious matters.

This guy posted this 3 years ago. He's not even here anymore. Welcome to the community. But please don't resurrect dead threads that have been abandoned
