Stupid question: what are the stars under people's names for? (they appear on the sidebar next to posts.) Some people have 1, some have 3, some have 5. Oskaar's are blue. Though I suppose he can make them whatever color he wants. ;D Just curious.

Good question.

The stars are to symbolize the various member groups. Gold stars are for patrons, and registered users. Patrons get five golden stars, registered users get three golden stars.

Administrators get five blue stars, and various other membergroups in the administrative continuum get other colored stars in various colors. The reason they are different colors is so that it is visually easy for us to ID. Hence the different color, it's kind of like a worker bee level for the administrators and forum moderators.

Hope that helps,

Oskaar

Thanks for the info Oskaar. So what about the categories? I understand about Maintenance and Patrons. How about restricted?

Restricted is just another category we use for a holding pattern until we can move people into one of the other categories. It functions the same as registered.

Saaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy!!!!

If we get to make requests!!!

I'd like mine to be the color of Jadwiga please... maybe work in a scratch & sniff feature too so that I can lovingly caress my screen to stimulate the wonderful aromas of honey and oak...

No requests, no customization. These are the system defaults for each user group and they's a gonna be stayin that way.
