The standard for wine bottles is #9, I believe, but I've read you can get away with a #8 if you don't plan on long-term storage.

Most beer bottles aren't really meant for corks, but the Belgian-style bottles are. Not sure what size but if you have a local shop that stocks the bottles I'm sure they'd know.
