Unless I missed a Lang design in there some where, they are already biased by using a top bar and Warre designs only. They need a standard Lang as this is what most people and allmost every commercial outfit uses. WVMJ

No idea, Jack. I know even less about making bee hives than about making mead.

Is it possible that there's some open source issue with that particular design? Perhaps it has something to do with these 'sensors' they mention.

At any rate, it might be worth dropping them a line and at least asking.

It seems that there is a little hand from partners of natural comb (4.8~4.9 mm) as goes for Warré and top bar.
Langstroth uses foundation comb (5.2~5.3 mm).

If natural comb was the majic cure there would still be lots of wild hives right? I use some foundationless frames in our Langs, lots of fun. We have a pair of top bar hives, they can build whatever they want, I didnt treat them like the Langs and the mites go them. I did harvest some nice honey comb from the TBH, made a nice whole hive mead from that. I might keep the TBH around just to make whole hive mead from easily. WVMJ
