Howdy all.

I created my first batching using fall honey from my hives. This honey was crazy dark because of all of the goldenrod last fall so naturally the liquid is very dark and a little hazy. My question is, once it starts to clear up will it lighten as well or will it stay dark? Many thanks

I've seen some time lapse fermentations and the color will lighten and the mead will clear up as well ! Correct me if I'm wrong but a active or trailing off fermentation will be bring particulates up in the must thru O2 escaping . As the particles fall another bubble of O2 rises and takes the yeast and other sediment with it to the surface

My experience is that mead without fruit additions ends up pretty close in color to the original honey.
