Has anyone evr used Wyeast #3447 Eau De Vie (Liquid Culture)? If so what did you think of it? At www.homebrewheaven.com they said it is capable of producing an alcohol content of up to 21%.

If I'm going that high I'll use K1V-1116, or the EC-1118. Never used the Wyeast you mentioned as I am not really fond of liquid yeast cultures.

Cheers,

Oskaar

I'm with Oskaar. If you want a powerful yeast go with K1V-1116. Hard to match its combination of strength and great ending flavor profile and fruitiness.

I have never used the Eau de Vie culture, but it sounds like a strain that will produce petrol flavors. Kind of like drinking Eau de Vie. Not bad for a dram, but not what I want in a mead and multiple servings.
