If I decide to use mahleb in making a cherry mead, how much should I add to five gallons? I have read comments from Vicky about this elsewhere, and she suggests using a 'handful.'

Well, Vicky, I am 6' 5" and I am only guessing here, but chances are pretty good that my handful would be quite a bit bigger than your handful.

Any chance someone could give me a more precise unit of measure? Tablespoons, cups, ounces, grams, thimblefulls, anything?

Thanks. :D

Hi Fantome,

I'm sorry, but I didn't measure any more accurately than that. However, I'd venture that my 'handful' is about 1/4 cup, give or take a bit.

Vicky - buried up to my eyeballs, sorry about the delay

Thanks, much obliged. I have a cherry mead ready to be bottled, I think I will split the batch and try half with mahleb, and half without.

Fantome.
