Default Obama to serve Home-Brewed Beer

    Obama to server home-brewed beer

Now do you think we can get him to make mead?

    It is mead.

I assume that it is primarily grain with a bit of honey in it. It sounds as though they plan to have it ready in a couple of weeks.

I thought there was a thread recently about the head chef at the White House making a braggot using honey from the Presidential bee hives? I could be wrong...

Either way, good to know our President enjoys a homebrew now and again.
Find what you like, and hone it to perfection.

    And don't serve dodgy mead!

For the white house super bowl party.

Braggot, Honey Ale, Mead. It's all close enough.

If I was the president, I'd NEED a homebrew now and again, and again, and again.

After a bit more reading. It was brewed not by Obama himself, but by the White House chefs. Thou Obama evidently did buy (or at least pay for) the equipment himself.

Evidently this wasn't the first beer they've brewed there, just the first they were willing to sever to guests.

They haven't release the recipe yet other than it was probably a 10 gallon batch (they said there were 100 bottles served with non left over) and 1 pound of honey, not much for 10 gallons.

I'll try to keep up and if they post the recipe I'll repost it here.

    Cheers
