If I see ten people stomping someone, I am going to engage and I know I won't win, but I won't view it as a losing cause. I couldn't not do it and live with myself. When CIA operative/Navy Seal Tyrone Woods illuminated a mortar position, shelling a CIA position with 30 Americans, after he had scynked up with an active armed asset overhead, thats the only way the illuminator works, I imagine he felt the same way, it is a good day to die. The libation was historically poured to wet the lips of those in hell! I doubt he is there. It is perspective.
