Great article, though I wish it was more informative to the drinking crowd. How it does not and should not have the acidity of wine save melomels, how it can be dry as a wine and have complex aromas that surpass even a great chablis, etc. but still, any marketing that brings mead to light is welcome. Just as it took forever for people to realize that beer can be more than an American lager, or that American wine can have the same level of complexity and prestige as French wines; mead may see the day where it is offered at resturants for the public.

The title was meant to say "mead article" just to be clear :-)

Thanks for sharing the article. A great read. As long as the FDA doesn't start messing with the meaderies the future is looking good.

A little part of me is always sad when mead becomes a little more commonplace, as it always feels like more of an exclusive, eccentric, or even cultish hobby to dabble in.

Then I remember mead-> honey-> bees. Any knowledge about bees and thus their plight that can be spread is so essential now.

Man, I get SO tired of hearing about "renewed popularity" which has been in articles for past 20 years......

Sent from the Nexus of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy which has been infected with Vogon poetry, some of which leaked out here.

It's still in infancy and may remain that way. That's fine. Either way is good. It's to the alcoholic beverage world what vinyl is to the music world. That's cool.

I think it's more like a phonograph cylinder, and only true badasses still have those.
