Howdy! I made a 1 gallon batch of mead at the beginning of the year. I ended up moving out of state and I had left the mead at my parents place. Well my dad decided to stick the mead in on its side. I just got back in to town and noticed it. I havent had a chance to taste it yet but it had a rubber stopper on it. Do you think this can cause any problems with the flavor? Its been like this for a few months maybe.

Thanks,
Kevin

Probably no, but heat and humidity swings, not forgetting the alcohol can do strange things to flavour. Taste it and see.......

Then think on whether you need to explain to your dad, on the way to the home brew shop for some silicone or cork stoppers :D

Ok. Thats a bit of a relief. It's been in the refrigerator so no temp fluctuations but my aging time has certainly been extended significantly.
