Howdy,
Long time reader, first time poster. This is a question for the pro's out there. I have bumped up my fermenter size from the little glass carboys (7gal) to a full on steel fermenter (140gal). I am used to just racking my mead into a new container, but with the new equipment i have the ability to simply drop the lees out of the bottom and then mix it up (de-gas, agitate, etc.). This seems to me like it would function the same as actually racking into a another container but i wanted to check before i did anything crazy.
Hope i got this post put in the right spot, sorry if I didnt.

Not a pro myself, but I do have 28L conical FastFerment which has the same functionality.

The main advertising point of the FastFerment is that you don't need to rack to secondary. You simply dump the yeast out the bottom and boom, you are now in secondary.

Not had any problems myself going from pitch to bottle without a single rack.
