Well we have an agreement, I don't say anything she does with the upstairs, she don't say anything I do with the down stairs. I agreed to this before I thought of making mead. :p

Rigged this up basically 18g plastic tub. Stuck a fish tank heater to a glass carboy filled with water. Low watt heater, just gets warm to the touch , probably could just stick to the tub but probably safer sticking to glass. 10g of water fills it up enough. Heater kicks on and off to keep it a nice 67, could turn it up if need be:

24hrs later and it's bubbling away.

Found out that I don't need to worry about temp as once it started fermenting it's sitting about 68-70 on it's own regardless of the coolness of the basement. Probably a good thing the basement is cool or it might get too hot.
