hiya,
I am following a mead recipie And it says to put in half the nutrients in after it has fermented for a 24 hours..
When i put in the nuitrients it bubbled over and out of the carboy (was messy) then it settled down..
I have never added yeast nuietreints on the fly like that before.. is this common? and What can i do to prevent that.. either put it all in on day one, or slower?
PS: My initial SG: was 1.05 5 gallon batch roughly 15 lbs honey, with a potential abv% of 14.5
ANy idea how long to let mead go before taking it off the primary..
Thanks
