I'm trying to find a mead that I can buy online and have shipped to my mother in Vermont, but I'm not having any luck. I have found a few meads that ship to several states, but none that include Vermont. I found one mead made in Vermont, but they don't sell online. Does anyone know of a place that will sell online and ship to Vermont?

The issue, I believe, is whether Vermont allows shipping of alcoholic beverages. It does not. New Hampshire is the closest. The only reason I know this is because someone posted a link to an online retailer that kindly provides information about which states they can ship to and which they cannot.
So it looks like no matter what online store, they will not be able to ship to VT.

Bummer. But thanks for the information. At least now I can avoid tearing up the entire internet in a search for the non-existent.
Interesting. According to that site, they can ship to Vt. I was under the impression that it was due to state law that they could not ship. Evidently that is incorrect. My apologies.

I have a cousin who started up a business helping people to ship their wines across state lines. Apparently no two states have the same regulations, and it's a byzantine process to get approval for just one state. He has figured out the regulations so that people can ship to many states by going just to him. I asked him if any of his clients are shipping mead to Vermont, though, and he doesn't yet know of any. Still keeping my fingers crossed that he'll come up with someone. Mead doesn't seem to be a big ticket item for him at the moment.
But Wine Maker Magazine runs a competition. The competition is held in Vt (Manchester) so they must be able to receive bottles of wine from across the USA. Is it because the shippers are amateurs that they can ship to Vt?
