Got together with two friends this past weekend to brew a stout and a barley wine.

The stout was just an Dry Stout kit. The intent of the barley wine was to use up a lot of old extract and a ton of hops one of the guys had on hand.

Here's the B Wine.
9 lbs. Amber Malt liquid extract
5.5 lbs. LME
4 lbs. 2-row
2 lbs. Crystal 60L

2 oz Nugget - FWH
3 oz Chinook - 90 mins
2 oz Chinook - 45 mins
2 oz Chinook - 30 mins
1.5oz Nugget - 15 mins
1 oz Nugget - 10 mins
1 oz Chinook - 5 mins
2 oz Chinook - 0 mins
5 oz Cascade - Dry Hop (2 oz for 14 days; 3 oz for 5 days)

White Labs 007

OG 1.1002

It is fermenting like crazy right now.

Dang, this is a Hop Monster! 14.5oz in the boil...was this a regular 5 gallon batch? Also, what was the final volume at pitch? I'm curious how much loss you had after boiling from all those (assuming pellets!) hops.

Sounds very tasty...;D

It was just under an 8 gallon boil with the final volume of 6 gallons.

It was actually whole hops. Dried of course. So the loss I am assume about 1/2 gallon.

I have a picture of all the hops laid out on a table and it is rather impressive, but I haven't been able to figure out how to post pics.

Well now I'm jealous. :p That many whole cone hops for me would be too much to think about. My friend wants to buy a pound, though. So maybe I can do something similar soon.

I'm staying tuned to see how this turns out. :)
