Hello all. A couple of weeks ago I noticed another Fred Meyer in the area carried 4 verietals of Sky River Meadery and I had a bottle of the Semi-Sweet and Dry. The Semi-Sweet had SG 1.018 and the dry was 1.010. Both pretty good, not much different to say from what I wrote in the Sweet review. Not much complexity, simple and good. Good enough for me to have since purchased another bottle of each to try again. (only 5 more months until I'm willing to start in on my current 15 gallons....)

Overall I'd say that this Meadery would be a good intro to mead unless you prefer nothing other than dryer meads.

I was introduced to mead with the Sky river semi-sweet, and it was quite nice, subtle, but a bit dry for my taste. So I put an order in with our local liquor store for a couple bottles of Sky River sweet mead. The sweet mead is just about right for myself and my partner.

She has been trying to re-order Chaucers, but that is hard to get here for some reason. Plus she has been trying to order a couple varieties from the 12 Washington state meaderies I gave her a listing of, and a few more from other states as well. I guess she really wants to give some other meads a try as well... Lucky me!!! :D

But, yeah, from what I have heard: Most other meads are exceedingly sweet, Sky River is dryer and more subtle... I'll know more once I can get my grubby little paws on some more meads for comparison.........
