The translation for this name is honey Spice Wine and it is made by Siebrand. It was purchased at a liquor store in Emmeloord for 4.85 euros on April 15. The label says it is 12% alcohol and that it is famous for sweet and herbal taste. The web site for it is here... http://www.siebrand.nl/dranksoort/overige-wijnen/# and says that it is a full red wine enriched with Dutch honey (so, this is another one that isn't fermented from honey).

The color is very dark red, and is almost opaque when held up to a light. Aroma/nose has an unpleasant medicinal spicy-ness. Initial taste is a cloying sweet cough syrup taste which gets really stronger on the second sip.

I can't really recommend this, but will keep this bottle for cooking.

Is that a 375cl sized bottle? Wine enriched with honey seems to be used for a few commercial "meads". Bunratty mead in Ireland is the same - though a white wine base.
