I just finished an interesting summer recipe created by a local homebrew shop.

They label it as a "Summer Bitter" but the style partially eludes me. It is more like a bitter wheat.

5 gallon batch

3 lbs of Pale Malt Extract (Dry)
3 lbs of Wheat Malt Extract (Dry)
1 oz of Northern Brewer hops (pellets)
1 Pkg of Nottingham Yeast

simple protocol and follows like most extract recipes.
Bring water to boil (part or all of your 5 gallons)
mix malt, bring to boil, throw in hops, boil for 60 minutes.
put in fermenter and cool. Aerate. pitch yeast

If you are looking for a bear that is fairly light in body, but still has sufficient bitterness. This is a good recipe.

I encountered a bear like that in the boundary waters a few years ago, but I don't really want a recipe to make him come back.

Ha! Thanks for the typo indication.

Correction. This is a 5 gallon recipe for a summer beer. no "bear" brewing here.
