Just popped this one open at cellar temperature. It's delicious, plain and simple. Slight green hue in the glass, probably from the hops. Aroma, slight bitterness and alcoholic smell. Flavor starts slightly sweet, mid-palate is a pleasant mix of earthy and citrus hoppiness, and the finish leaves the feeling of eating honey coating the throat. Overall impression is one of a sweet green tea, one sweetened with honey. ;) Slight bitterness is balanced by a nice residual sweetness, with neither overpowering the other.

The specs are a hop tea made with Citra, Warrior, and Amarillo hops (over 7 oz.), OG 1.130 FG 1.026, batch size 16 gallons, batch #80, and made 5/26/10.

I'd rate this a 4-4.5 out of 5. A much nicer example of hopped mead than Redstone's Nectar of the Hops. I'm glad I bought two bottles, because I'm definitely saving the other one in anticipation of a side-by-side tasting with the (hopefully!!) forthcoming meads in this series. Any insight to when the next series is coming out, Brad? ;D

Thanks to B Nektar for another delicious mead!

Sorry, but we're all sold out of #1. :(

#2 is going to be our batch #100. It's a lambic-style mead made with three different strains of brett, lacto, wine yeast, and aged in oak barrels. Then we'll be mixing up a "young" mead that we'll make with aged hallertauer hops from my backyard. Unfortunately, this mead is at least a year away from being released.

#3 has not been made yet, but will likely be released before #2.

Anything with sour bugs in it, and I'm happy. Sounds very tasty. :) Keep us posted!
