Bourbon Cream Liqueur

I recently returned from a little vacation in the central KY area. It wasn’t my first time there, but it was for my girlfriend. We took a lot of the tours of the bourbon distilleries and loved ‘em. (IMO Maker’s Mark and Woodfords have the best tours).

While we were at Buffalo Trace they introduced us to their new Bourbon Cream Liqueur. I don’t particularly like many hard alcohols, but bourbon is one of ‘em I’ll drink a few times a year. This cream liqueur though … holy crud IT’S AMAZING!

They mixed it ½ & ½ with root beer. It tasted just like a root beer float with just the right amount of bourbon flavor to compliment it, not overpower it.

Unfortunately the info I’ve heard and read about is that it’s only available at the distillery. I may have to take the 3-hour road trip there to get some more … for Christmas gifts of course!

Umm here where i can help!! haha Right on the KY, IN border!! haha maybe Bourban Cream can be considered a marinade or cooking wine, and start shipping it

I will have to look for this, sad that I am also 3hrs away from the distillery.

That's a tempting offer indeed! That would save me a trip to KY though! There's a winery I wasn't abel to try while I was there that I'd like to swing by as well. They have a good list of fruit wines I'd like to sample.

I already found one ... GMTA! Might give 'er a go sometime soon. Right now I'd rather make more mead and watch them bubble away. It's almost zen-like!

We did the Woodford's tour 10 years ago, it was called Labrough & Graham then. Great tour and a very historic distillery. I love bourbon as well, I guess when we get back down to KY we'll have to visit another distillery to try the creme liqour.
