I didn't have any ec-1118 so I made mine with K1V I wonder if it will still work.

I don't see that as a problem . My first batch of ginger ale was with bread yeast, and that worked better than the EC. But for the cherry soda, the EC went nuts and I almost had a bottle bomb in under 24 hours. It's amazing how stretchy Ozarka bottles are!

Back when I was working at a grocery store, someone forgot their milk outside on a HOT summer day (it could have been out for more than a day), it was massively swollen. I showed another co-worker and he said he should bring it inside and show someone cause it looked cool + it had to go to damaged. Well as he was walking back it exploded, covering him and someones black SUV in nasty milk/cheese. He did get the rest of the day off though.

That's funny! I was quite scared that was going to happen with this one... So I took it outside to release the pressure, and good thing I did. As it fizzed up and since the bottle was so contorted, I couldn't reseal the cap once it was undone and it fizzed, not explosive like since the cap was still there, but it was leaking out from under the cap quite nicely.

....I have to try this.

And it was delicious! (=

That it was! The K1V didn't fizz a lot but it warped the jug. Thankfully no MEA. Everyone who tried it said it was great. Thanks for the recipe.
