Hello all. Just opened my final bottle of my personal taste test (been an expensive, but informative 4 days....).

The label says it's "Crafted in the style of a semi-dry table wine, it captures the flavor of honey without being too sweet." I'd have to agree, there is a sweetness that's not too sweet. Light to medium straw color, but there's not much nose. I'd prefer a more distinct honey flavor, and disagree with what is said on their website: "The wildflower honey used to produce this mead wine. . . creates layers of flavor." The Mountain Meadows Sierra Nectar that I tried 2 nights ago had, IMO, a more complex, wildflower taste, and IF the Hidden Legends had more of that honey essence, this would be the best commercial mead in this test and what I'd be shooting for in my home brews.

According to their website, they also offer a Dark Honey Mead which may add to the complexity and I'd like to try some if the store carries any.

Conclusions from this test: Homebrews are the best. And I'm definitely on the right track (at least for me, anyway).

Well done for the mini-test. Maybe when you can, you could post pictures and data i.e. gravity out of the bottle and pH ?

Because if nothing else, it gives us more of an idea of the style of brew that it is.

All the commercial ones I've tried so far, have been sweet "dessert" style meads.......

So I always like to find out about other types, even if I can't get them here.....

Sorry to disappoint, but didn't take pics or any data. This was purely a personal taste test and didn't know that would be good info for others.

Nice one billy, I had this mead about a year ago and it was good, I have a sweet tooth so i was delighted with the aftertaste. A sweet mead best served chilled
