Hi,
Im making my own stout(extract recipe), im goin for a sweeter guinness flavor. Its going to be am ongoing project, ill make it, drink, adjust it, make it etc...

grains:
-1# 120l crystal malt
-1# roasted barley
-1/2# flaked barley

Sugar:
-6.6# pale LME(LHBS was out of dme...)

hops:
-2oz northern brewer(60 mins)
-.5oz fuggles(20 mins)
-.5oz fuggles(7 mins)

carbonation:
-3/4 cup corn sugar

it will be bottled in 12oz bottles.

will be brewing it hopefully sunday night, might have to hold off til monday night though. right now im guessing that i will have to add more rosated barley and flaked barley to the next one, but ill start here and see how it goes...

11/26/06
-2 irish ale yeast actvator packs in a quick starter(started at begniing of boil)
-"mashed" grains at 160-170 for 30 mins
-sparged with turkey baster, one gallon at 170 degrees
-strained, added LME, mixed
-put onto heat, added hops(no bag, right into the wort, followed hop schedule
-strained out hops
-added to ice, borrowed more ice from neighbors
-mixed vigorously, much foam, flaked barley had desired effect?
-got to 70 degreesF
-pitched yeast, airlocked(6.5gal. bucket), put in closet, will check in a few days.

-bubbling away early this morning, was pitched around 830pm, so it started in less than 12 hours
