Hello all,
I thought I'd post my question here, since it might be the most according location.
I'm looking for places in Belgium where I can order mead - as to try and taste, and see if I like it. I'm kind of a taste junkie, and since I've been hearing all kinds of positive things about mead, I'd thought I'd give it a run ... only to find out that there are no easy ways to get your hands on some over here :s
This of course only makes it more interesting - I do like a challenge
So - do any of you regulars around here, or anybody in general, have some information for me about locations in Belgium where I can go to, have a taste - and go home with a couple of bottles?
I'd like to go to a regular shop if possible - not that I'm against buying online, it's just that it is a new world for me, and I'd like to sample some, or at least have somebody guide me a bit before I order 6 bottles that I might not totally like.
Also - as of now, I did not find any shops online that carry mead, and deliver to Belgium - any help with locating online resources to purchase mead are also much appreciated.
I should note that I know a share of beer - heck, I am Belgian, we practically invented beer
However - I get the impression that mead is a lot more homebrewn than beer ... and from what I gather here and around other online spots, homegrown tends to be preferred.
Is it worth it to get any "commercially" brewn mead - or is this just a matter of taste?
I look forward to trying out brewing my own mead one day, but since I do not have a lot of time lately, I'd thought of trying out a bottle here and there first, to get an idea ...
In all - any comments are much appreciated - thanks already!
greetings,
Frank
