The 5 gallons is almost ready to transfer again. At work today, they supplied us with a hot box of coffee.
Its a card board box with a plastic and mylar liner, like a wine box.
Can I use the emptied and cleaned liners to store the mead for the long term?

They'd be perfect if they can be.....
 
I seem to recall from previous discussions that mylar is fine for wine storage. I've been saving the bags from my wine concentrates just in case... :)
 
Excellant! My daughter works at a tim Hortons and I could possibly get the bags cheaply.
I think it would be a good way of storing bulk for long term storage. Write the content description on the outside in indellible marker, Put in a plastic storage box (Walmart) and forget about it for a year or 2....
 
Doing a search, found a container and bags for holding wine. But it stated it would hold the wine up to 6 months.
I was sort of hoping of storing for several years in these bags.
Will they work in this application or should I look for some bulk storage solution else where.
