Well, I understand what you are trying to say but how practical is it to take such a hardline with things such as language? Language is constantly evolving. You single handedly relegate yourself to living 66 years in the past. Because of that you (if you were truly as hardline as you say) would not be able to communicate today. The language and meanings of words have evolved. Not only that but by using such old definitions you loose most of the language in use today. Nothing about computers, nuclear energy, etc. Even if those words are in there, those, and the other words in there still in use today (probably quite a few) have evolved as well and taken on new meanings. Some are no longer in the vernacular.
I agree that a definition should be made. That I believe is one of the aims of the IMA (International Mead Association) and you can rest assured that as soon as something moves there it will be sung from the highest mountains.
