Brewed my first mild today. Here goes (2.5 gallons):

2 3/4 oz English Chocolate malt
2 3/8 oz English Brown malt
5/8 oz Crystal 40 malt
2 lbs Dry light extract
3/8 oz Fuggle (4.5%AA) 60 min
couple pellets Fuggle 10 mins
4g Windsor yeast
1g Fermaid K

Off it goes! Wish it luck.

Fermentation was a happy one, calmed down nicely in about 5 days. Today I bottled with 1.25 oz corn sugar. Yield was 24 12oz bottles. Tastes very light bodied, but nice and brown and roasty. Will be a great beer for summer drinking.

Speaking of, it's back to the yard for me. Several bottles of wine await.

This is a really nice beer. Really light in body and the mouthfeel is almost a little too thin, but the flavors are of a nice round brown beer. Low carbonation but it suits. I like it, and recommend for a nice easy summer brown beer.
