state wine laws

Hi,
Was searching the web earlier and did a goggle search for state wine making laws for where I'm from. Alabama. Now having been living in this state my whole life I am use to it being one of the most back ass ward places to live. I'm rarely surprised when someone in the local government does something so stupid it sets this state back forty years.
One example would be that although there are several counties in the state that are dry these same counties want access to the tax money raised by state run ABC stores.
Another would be that in the city of Birmingham you can't open a bar, brewery, or even restaurant that serves alcohol any where that was not zoned legal for such an establishment before prohibition was put in place in the early 1900s.
However as normalised as I am to some of the really stupid things that happen here, when I read the state wine laws for Alabama I was left shaking my head. Anyone with time to do a search for Alabama wine making laws could you please explain to me if I'm reading it right. I am allowed to be in possession of no more than 5 gallons of homemade wine? Does that mean I can make more than that but can never have more than five gallons bottled, or in bulk storage?
I know some of you have been reading wine making laws for a lot longer than I have had an interest in mead making and are more astute at figuring out legal speak.
It really is disgusting sometimes to see how hard this state goes out of it's way to try and make itself look so bad.

Yup, those crazy laws really make a ton of sense :
I was reading a beer law that states if you have a homebrewed beer in your car with Alabama licence plates and you have an Alabama drivers license, they can take your car!!!!

I think the person to talk to is Merika Coleman, she is on the Alcohol and gambling restrictions commitee

Hopefully these laws will be changed to reflect the federal standard of 100gal for individual or 200gal per family

I signed in on that petition, it would be nice to see some laws changed but like good mead it takes time I guess.
I wonder if I only made quick meads and drank them as fast as they was made, never having more than 5 gallon's of mead at a time, other than my brew log how would they know if I was making more than 5 gallons?
Knowing this state the church across the street from the home brew store is documenting every purchase by telephoto lens and Identifying you by your car tag.
Paranoia is a good sign I'm not drinking enough mead,
