Hello all --
Some time back Oskaar had posted about the 30th anniversary of the famous (or infamous, if you're French
) blind tasting in 1976 between Californian and French wines. California rocked the French world when their wines beat out the French wines, proving to the world that the USA had attained world class status in winemaking.
There had been talk about restaging the blind tasting, using the same wines only now aged. Well, it happened and the US once again came out ahead. We not only proved that we can make world class wines, we proved that our wines age well.
I don't have time to post details of the re-enactment, and Oskaar may want to chip in on this since he started the thread to being with. Heck, he's probably long term friends with the California winemakers who participated in the tasting! ;D
