I don't know if you've ever cracked open a bottle of Windsor Vineyards wine in your time or not. If you haven't, the wine was a good quality wine that was very drinkable, but never really top of the mark. What hade it special was that you could have the label personalized by the winery for whoever you were going to gift a bottle to.

His premium wines carried the Sonoma Vineyards, and later the Rodney Strong labels and his two best in my opinon were the Alexander's Crown Cabernet Sauvignon, and his Chalk Hill Chardonnay. The Vineyards were very well kept and the wine cellar and tasting room were very cool both outside and inside. A great loss for the California Wine Industry.

His wines were modest and decent, not great. I visited their winery in sonoma a couple of years ago and had a pleasant time. I always liked his gnarly vines zin. (not bad for a 18$ zin). Sorry he passed away.
