It does. But usa casting agents sure know how to pretty up the looks! BBC version did get a little melodramatic in the later eps but us version seems to have picked up where they left off.

A little bit of artistic license - it's a blackberry mead - which in reality is more a deep scarlet. I'm happy to take any suggestions as to how to make is blacker though :)

Love the ribbon idea~

There are a lot of awesome labels in this thread. Glad I'm not the only one who spends a lot of time developing labels!

Here's one from the mead I gave out for Christmas this year. The two vertical lines were cut to thread red ribbon around the bottle that was tied in the back.

Thank you! I have Sookie, my ever-present catahoula mead partner, to thank for the inspiration. (It's good luck if you find an actual hair in the bottle ;) )

We are just a creative bunch!

LOVE the hair of the dog brand/labels.

Very very nice! Makes me want to explore my Basque roots for a little label inspiration.

From the very cool name to the sweet line drawing it has a very nice professional look to it.

Thanks - I'm very pleased with the way it came out.

I'd like to give bottles to a few friends who don't know I mess about with this - just to see what the reaction is.

The ancestors I know about are more of a mix of Scottish and Scandinavian rather than Irish but there's a similar pagan type heritage and fondness for putting big stones in circles. :D

Of course they can be found all over the UK and on the continent as well.

There you go!

I'm liking this one the best so far, just because it doesn't feel like I've been sent back into the middle ages.

The lettering has this Russian type effect to it, not sure I'm digging that so much.

Cool arent they? And thats the idea of posting them.....to get ideas and inspiration and get better at stuff.

Sent from Arthur Dent's towel smothering a volume of Vogon poetry, some of which just leaked out.

This thread weirdly got me to come out of lurkerville, mostly because I just finished the rough for one of my pet Projects. Anyone else a Rothefus fan?
